My Gimpy Life

Guys. This show was incredible. An incredible experience and where I got to work with Sean Becker and slowly trick him into Directing Hench. And for the second time I got to work with the talented and hilarious Teal Sherer! And it was written by the hilariously talented Gabe Uhr.

There are so many episodes to watch and you should watch them all!

Here’s a trailer to whet your appetite:

Season 2:

Chicken Suit

Once upon a time…

I got to work some entirely too talented human beings on a project. AK Hottman directed Chelsey Crisp (Fresh Off the Boat), Ludwig Manukian, and myself.

Before we got a chance to do an entire web-series. My producing partner Mark S. Hampton and I did a short film called Genre.

We wanted something short and fun that could let us play with all the styles of film that we love. So, I wrote something with that in mind.

Hench is something that’s near and dear to my heart. It involves working with all my friends for one. And it was a HUGE undertaking! But I felt like my team crushed it and made a project that I will be proud of till the end of my days.

This project also caused a pivot in my career. I no longer just thought of myself as just an actor. It took a lot of convincing from my family and friends that I needed to really think of myself as a multi-faceted creative person and embrace the writer inside of me.

Eventually, this gave me the confidence with my comedy partner Jake Bennett to pitch Hench and eventually sell it to Warner Horizon.

What is Jake & Daryl’s: One Woman Show?

Good question.

It’s a sketch comedy group made up of two people.

People often ask us… why “One Woman Show?” And we say, “Exactly!”

Jake Bennett and I love sketch comedy. And we’ve always wanted to shoot WAY over the top conceptual sketches that involve bending of reality and sometime dealing with borderline sociopathic characters in normal situations causing chaos in people’s lives.

We were shooting sketches over a period of a year when we were approached by our agents at the time to do a live show. With the encouragement of an executive producer that was on our side at the studio level we went for it.

We’ve done three live shows with more planned to come in the future!

You can see all our recorded sketches here!

In the works

First off hi. If you’ve found your way here. Congrats. You’ve got some time to kill. Or do you? Are you avoiding some serious work? Then go back and do that. The internet isn’t going anywhere.

So currently. Asinine Wisdom is still waiting on word to get renewed at Geek and Sundry. We’re hopeful but as always with this kind of thing it’s a waiting game. Everyone there has been super supportive and kind to Jake and I. So either way we feel like it’s a win.

In the meantime I’m working on my graphic novel still with artist Matthew D. Swan. It’s somewhere in the middle of production which can feel like a long road of nothing. Followed by brief moments of excitement and then weeks of boredom. I love it.

On May 18th I’m scheduled to appear on Gather your Party again! Very excited about that as it’ll be a Gather your Circus Party so that’ll be a blast! With juggling and unicycles and what not! Hooray!

More to come.
