You guys!

I’m super excited about this! Jake and I have been working incredibly hard on this one and are really pumped about the 12 episodes Geek and Sundry has give us to blast our stupidity and “comedy” all over the internet!

Get ready!

Oh Shifting!

Written by my good friend Drew Hampton. Directed by Mark S. Hampton.

Shifting was one of my favorite roles to date.

My Gimpy Life

Guys. This show was incredible. An incredible experience and where I got to work with Sean Becker and slowly trick him into Directing Hench. And for the second time I got to work with the talented and hilarious Teal Sherer! And it was written by the hilariously talented Gabe Uhr.

There are so many episodes to watch and you should watch them all!

Here’s a trailer to whet your appetite:

Season 1:

Season 2:

Chicken Suit

Once upon a time…

I got to work some entirely too talented human beings on a project. AK Hottman directed Chelsey Crisp (Fresh Off the Boat), Ludwig Manukian, and myself.

You can read all the details here.

And here’s the full 20 minute short film!

Before we got a chance to do an entire web-series. My producing partner Mark S. Hampton and I did a short film called Genre.

We wanted something short and fun that could let us play with all the styles of film that we love. So, I wrote something with that in mind.

Hench is something that’s near and dear to my heart. It involves working with all my friends for one. And it was a HUGE undertaking! But I felt like my team crushed it and made a project that I will be proud of till the end of my days.

This project also caused a pivot in my career. I no longer just thought of myself as just an actor. It took a lot of convincing from my family and friends that I needed to really think of myself as a multi-faceted creative person and embrace the writer inside of me.

Eventually, this gave me the confidence with my comedy partner Jake Bennett to pitch Hench and eventually sell it to Warner Horizon.

A Brief History of Asinine Wisdom

Picture this.

It’s 2016. Jake and I are friends at this point and have sold Hench to Warner Horizon and have since been told by a few networks that it just doesn’t fit what they’re looking for.

We’re down and we’re out. Then his mother gets sick. And he has to go home. Jake and I are basically brothers at this point and his pain is my pain. And we both deal with pain the same way. With stupid stupid  humor.

We decided that when he got back from Alabama, after the funeral, that we would start a podcast just to be creative and argue about nothing and invite our friends.

Let me make this clear. We didn’t know what we were doing. Well, I didn’t know what I was doing. The first REAL episode, I didn’t plug in the soundboard’s USB to the computer. So, it ended up recording it on the laptop. It is known as the “Lost Episode: With Sean Becker.” Regardless, Sean had a blast and came back and re-recorded the episode again. And somehow he wasn’t swayed by our lack of intelligence or the crass humor we brought to the table.

Sean eventually climbed his way to an executive creator role at Geek and Sundry and offered us a meeting, which we jumped on and have been busting our ass ever since. So, if you’re a fan of the show Asinine Wisdom on Geek & Sundry you should take a few minutes to check out our podcast.

What is Jake & Daryl’s: One Woman Show?

Good question.

It’s a sketch comedy group made up of two people.

People often ask us… why “One Woman Show?” And we say, “Exactly!”

Jake Bennett and I love sketch comedy. And we’ve always wanted to shoot WAY over the top conceptual sketches that involve bending of reality and sometime dealing with borderline sociopathic characters in normal situations causing chaos in people’s lives.

We were shooting sketches over a period of a year when we were approached by our agents at the time to do a live show. With the encouragement of an executive producer that was on our side at the studio level we went for it.

We’ve done three live shows with more planned to come in the future!

You can see all our recorded sketches here!
